Supporting our technical capabilities is a manufacturing facility containing 5 Davis Standard extrusion lines, each with its own coordinated laser measuring and data logging hardware. Our lines regularly insulate wire as small as #28 AWG for telemetry and signal products all the way to #6 AWG to meet the power needs of today's cable market. Post insulation GEO SPACE has a fleet of single twist and double twist machines for pairing, in conjunction with 2 cablers that offer the possibility of up to 128 pairs cables in a non-neutralized assembly or up to 8 active components supported by a neutralized payoff. GEO SPACE is also proud to announce their most recent purchase of a Trafalgar 6+1 Strander with 52" bobbin capacity. This new line should be operational by Spring 2002. This line will allow GEO SPACE to provide top quality, long-length cables for our various markets. For jacketing, the Cable Shop relies on a 3 1/2" Davis Standard jacketing line with full dancer control and non-contact measuring equipment, paying off to 102" portal style take-up. GEO SPACE regularly runs Polyurethane and Polyethylene in all its jacketing lines and EPC's, Polypropylenes and similar materials in its insulation lines. After jacketing, GEO SPACE is fortunate to have one of the most advanced armoring lines in the U.S. The line, having 54 bobbins with 22" reel capacity, maintains individual AV vector drives on each of the cradles, feeding back critical tension and cradle information to a comprehensive PLC/CPU control system. GEO SPACE has been very successful in the armoring of high tensile GIPS wire and is ready to meet the most difficult of armoring challenges. All GEO SPACE Cable Products are manufactured to the company's quality plan, supported by the onsite QA Manager and a team of over 4 inspectors. Fully equipped with all key pieces of test equipment such as OTDR's, TDR's, Mega's and of course the HP-4100 series Gain Phase Analyzer, our Quality team can supply the information you need to be assured that the cable meets or exceeds the required electrical characteristics. |
