HS-10
Geophone
(Cutaway Drawing at Left)
Geo Space Corporation has manufactured inertial sensors for nearly three decades and offers a family of high quality, low cost geophones for a variety of industrial and military uses. Geo Space geophones have an unlimited shelf life and provide years of trouble-free service in applications where accurate motion sensing is required.

The HS-10 is a high-sensitivity, self-generating velocity detector with extremely low natural frequencies. It has been used for nearly three decades to detect seismic activity in applications such as seismology, structural analysis, etc.

HS-10 seismometers are available in horizontal and vertical models, with 1 and 2 Hz natural frequencies. Natural frequency of 1/2 Hz is optionally available on request.

Sensitivities range from about 3 to over 60 V/ips, depending upon the coil configuration. An optional calibration coil can be used to electrically excite the unit during field testing. Waterproof covers, pressure housings and 3-component cases are also available.

Notes:
1. Reference temperature for functional parameters is 25°C
2. Orientation angle is referenced to vertical. Model HS-10 geophones are designed to operate in only one orientation: please specify vertical or horizontal. Orientation angles for horizontal geophones are ± 0.25° and ± 1° referenced to horizontal for 1 and 2 Hz models, respectively.
3. Damping factor is ratio of critical damping.
4. Sensitivity, natural frequency, coil resistance and damping factor are 100% tested and calibration data are supplied with each unit. Consult the factory for special tests required to guarantee other functional parameters and shock limits.
5. Consult the factory for ordering information and specifications on optional calibration coil and protective housings.
