GEOPHONES
redline
A LOW COST ANSWER TO VELOCITY DETECTION
Sensors which convert motion into electric signals are known as geophones or seismometers. They are also called detectors, transducers or probes.

Geophones are used today in a variety of applications that are far removed from their original purpose as earthquake detectors. Geo Space began producing geophones over three decades ago and is one of the world's leading manufacturers of inertial sensors. Geo Space geophones have been taken to sea, dropped from the air, buried on the battlefield, attached to machinery and deployed on the moon.
 INTRUSION DETECTION
Security and surveillance systems employ geophones to detect movement along borders, perimeters and in buildings.
 MACHINERY ANALYSIS
Geophones are mounted on strategic locations to monitor machinery performance, wear and failure.
 MACHINERY BALANCING
Geophones are used to analyze angular motion and wobble in both fabrication and assembly of shafts, bearings and flywheels.
VIBRATION MONITORING
Measurement of vibration levels to locate and position critical machinery and equipment in factories and offices. Low-cost geophones are an ideal solution to this problem.
 STRUCTURAL EVALUATION
Geophones detect seismic and microseismic events to predict and analyze deformation of buildings, dams, mines and bridges.
 MINING / ENVIRONMENTAL
High resolution seismic surveying, mining, and environmental.
